Nogova's Liberation Army

Aleksi S. has sent us from Finland his very first addon based on Diversant's work (so as he said: "please be nice!"), the Nogova's Liberation Army that he made just for fun. Creating content from Armed Assault is quite a nice idea indeed.

Diversant wished to add this information: The addon is beta version, and doesn't look that good. Im corrently working on version 1.0 of the addon, please be patient :)

Schweres Wurfgerät 41 - Heulende Kuh

AtStWalker posted some new footage about the upcoming Schweres Wurfgerät 41 - Heulende Kuh on the BI Forums.

The first German rockets were those launched from the Schweres Wurfgerät 40 ("heavy throwing apparatus") and the Schweres Wurfgerät 41. These fire either 180-pound high-explosive or 196-pound incendiary rockets. These rockets are 280-mm and 320-mm in diameter, and weigh 180 and 196 pounds respectively.

The Schweres Wurfgerät 40 consists merely of a wooden frame (Wurfgestell 40) which fires rockets from wooden shipping crates; the 41, of a steel frame (Wurfgestell 41) holding either wooden or steel shipping crates. The launcher Schweres Wurfrahmen 40 consists of plates on the side of an armored half-track. Each half-track mounts a total of six plates, three on each side. The rocket-carrying crates are secured to the plates, and the latter are then inclined at a right angle for firing. Rockets also are fired from a Wurfgerät by the simple process of inclining the "heavy throwing apparatus" (shipping crate) in a trench (or against a firm rest) and setting a correct angle. The 300-mm high-explosive rocket also may be fired in this manner.

Modified Afghanistan released

marcomio informed us about the release of his modified CAT Afghanistan Island.

Hi, folks!
This is a little variation of the well known CAT-Afghanistan-Island with more roads, some enterable buildings and a little more vegetation added. Textures and all the other stuff are not final versions yet. Take it as a kind of „beta-release“, because some other version will follow.
Please pay attention to the credits in the readme, because without permission of the addonmakers and modders involved in the original island, this version would not have been released. Thanks to You all again.

Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint 2 announced




Everybody knew it, now it's a fact.


Codemasters has just confirmed Operation Flashpoint 2 in an interview with the leading german pc magazine Gamestar and launched the new official Operation Flashpoint 2 website.

This is a 100% Codemasters game unrelated to Bohemia Interactive Studio!

You can visit the official Operation Flashpoint 2 forum here. Codemasters will release more informations at the Games Convention 2007 in Germany.

First Facts:
  • the release should be in 2008
  • OFP 2 will use the Neon-Engine known from Colin McRae Dirt
  • the Story will be set in a modern scenario
  • OFP 2 will be released for PC and the "leading consoles"

    New FTP server... and new expenses



    Maybe you have noticed that we changed our download server two days ago since download speed should be really faster for most of you, especially if you are from USA, Canada, England and Germany!

    If you missed the news about OFP.info downloads, our OFP.info site's host Allstar told us last year that they couldn't host anymore all the files stored on their FTP due to tremendous foreign traffic, so we had to rent a dedicated server to store and keep downloads available.

    Unfortunately as we figured out with your messages on the forums and by emails, the first server we choose did not offer a good download speed for a big part of you, so we decided to rent a second one with a better internet connectivity.

    So now we (the team) are renting two servers:
  • First one is hosting www.armedassault.info website, forums and files
  • Second one is hosting all the ofp.info downloads (addons, islands, mods, missions etc)

    So now servers are costing us more than 700€ by year (without taking domain names, software licences, and backup server in consideration).

    Since we want to keep armedassault.info quite clean without annoying popup advertisements we ask you, members of the community, and if it is possible, to help us to rent those servers by making a donation via PayPal... even a small contribution will be very helpful!

    Itwea's Lightsaber released

    itweas the author of the excellent Ninjas has send us another experimental addon. This time it is a lightsaber.

    This light saber is "ONLY" experimental ADDON, So has shabby looks.
    But as for battle (especially AI vs AI), U may find out that OFP still has many possibilitys.

    Try an AI battle, DARKSIDE(set skill 1) vs JEDI(set skill 1), and Watch it!
    I hope u can enjoy urself with my experimental addon.
