AZW 1.1 released

kalasnikov471 released his AZW 1.1 Island in our Forums.

The map was created entirely by me and is a small 64x64 map, recreating the Afghanistan destert....It may be small but the ground textures are nice and the map can handle a single mission or MP mission or short campaign, but it has every kind of enviroment for disposal....

KC-10A promo video released

MrRee released an amazing video showing his upcoming KC-10A Tanker on our Forums.

Finally got my video done. This video shows shows that my script works with the AI and players a like both use the same script. And most important that my script actually works.
There are still some lighting issues with the model but now at least there is light at the end of this really long tunnel

SLX Replacement Pack 1.1

solus updated his SLX Replacement Pack to version 1.1 and released a beta in the BI Forum. For the changelog please check out the ReadMe file.

Thanks to everyone who has given feedback in the thread! This is a full release so you don't need any previous versions. The intention of this version was to make OFP SLX as stable as possible and streamline the gameplay of the 1985 campaign.
There might still be one rare random CTD but playing through most of the 1985 campaign should be mostly bug free and stable. I also moved all unit configs to separate files so it should be easier for people to make unit replacement configs.

FFUR/SLX Patch 1.05

thunderbird84 released a patch for FFUR/SLX 2007 on the BIS Forums. Thank you all for your kind words, but I'm afraid I would not get enough of time to sit down and carefully check out the previous pages since I have to get back to the army camp soon.
Anyways, As promised, here is the new patch, it has been accomplished today because the previous one that was on my USB key seemed to be corrupted.
  • New artillery system with a friendly interface that allows you to choose the number of shells and the scattering, the new scripting architecture used in the script is friendly and doesn't cause any kind of troubles (CTDs, errors...), unlike the previous version. -> 3 strikes per side are available.
  • Sounds updated, modified, enhanced or completely changed with the aim to get louder and more realistic SFX in game.
  • Fixed the grenades issue.
  • Fixed silenced firearms issue, now they are aimed to be silenced, the enemy doesn't hear you.
  • Slightly increased pistols "Hit" power.
  • Fixed the US sniper visual field issue.
  • Fixed the M24 Mag issue.
    And a lot of other minor fixes and changes.

  • Trabant Addons

    kalasnikov471 and his team a are working on a Trabant Addon. They showed of some screenshots on our Forums.

    Hey Everyone, I would just like to inform you that my Trabant Patch #101 is comming out some time next week, It will add some changes to the original BiS model, eg. an exhaust pipe, lots of white smoke, new realistic sounds etc... It will also add around 15 - 20 new Trabant 601 & 601 Kombi models, eg. Ambulance, jeep, peep + PK, 2 trailers, lot's of Trabants in different colours and stuff on the roof etc... new objects in the cockpit, eg. ash tary, map etc...

    + A very big thanks to "Linker Split" who is making a very important exhaust script for this addon, SaS trooP for testing and ideas, And a German member of the OFP community who sadly isn't on the ofp.info forum. His mame "Arne" (mountairanger) and he was a great help with ideas and modeling....


    Invasion 1944 has stopped

    JdB has informed us that Invasion 1944 has decided to close once and for all. Unless several miracles happen, the mod will not return.



    As of the middle of 2005 we have not been able to recruit nearly as many new active addonmakers as we had hoped and needed in order to complete our projects. We had hoped that the release of Armed Assault would see a renewed interest in the subject of World War 2 from both addonmakers and players, however this proved to be a miscalculation on our part when planning the Wacht am Rhein project. A [survey] conducted by us has shown that there is still a large fanbase for this theme, so we would like to wish other WW2 mods the best of luck in realizing their plans.

    We got requests from two teams a while ago to allow them to use the "Invasion 1944" name. Since we feel that this name is largely the ownership of former mod members such as (but not limited to) Marcel, Jojimbo and Ashkaban that have shaped the mod, unlike many others that have led us down over the years with nothing more than empty promises, we cannot allow anyone the usage of the name. OFP content can be used and/or converted without contacting us, as long as "Invasion 1944" is credited for the used items. Please do not ask us for any content other than what you've been given in the Oosterbeek Alpha release, we simply do not have anything else than what is included in that release.

    We would like to thank everyone for their interest and support since the beginning of the Market Garden project, and on those projects started by team members before our personal participation in the mod. We do want to continue working on mods (not necessarily WW2 themed) for Armed Assault with a majority of the members we have left, probably by joining another mod, but as of yet we have no idea which mod this will be, we'll see where the future takes us.

    burner send us his Space Mini Mod in which you can either fight on the goths or human side. This Mod is well made and worth a try.

    i've made a Space mini mod for ofp, it contains two teams (goths and the hunns). each team has a mothership, intercepter, bomber, cross/star fighter, defendgun, troopcarrier and only the goths has a fregate. i've made a MP mission and a example mission "how to use the mothership parts"

    Jungle Fever v2.1 released

    Hakwins informed us, that he has updated his Jungle Fever Mod to version 2.1.

    Got you guys fooled, eh? Last version wasn't last, so here is a new one, with some new toys!
    In this update, we introduce to you mortars, marines, battalion recon units (in editor under ODG (Light)), new models and other stuff (under HAW JF - Objects), mostly huts, VC objects, intelligence stuff (maps, documents...) and, a new island called Highlands.
    Some of you might know this island from the Unsung Demo II release. It has been converted to be used in JF.
    We will be releasing a mission pack for the mod in the next few days, including a small campaign set around the fall of the A Shau SF camp in 1966.
    It's not a 100% realistic campaign, but should keep you guys entertained for an hour or two. Besides that, we have some new missions on the MP server, that can now be played with the introduction of the new Highlands island, along some other new missions for the A Shau AO. If you're a team player and want to stay alive in the boonies with teamwork, join our coop sessions!

    New footage from itweas (wolve)

    itweas informed us, that he is still working on OFP Addons. He also did send us a video showing his newest achievement, a wolve addon which allows the player to play as a wolve.

    Almost part of Wolf has been compleated already so I think I will release it in 7 days, may be.
    I needa notice ppl about my addon before all of OFP users have gone to ArmA... so that my addon will not released into darkness.

    Mapfact's WW2 Object-Addon for OFP

    Mapfact has released a WW2 Object-Addon for OFP featuring AA and AT guns, bunkers and scout vehicles on their web site.

    Even when we left the OFP Community in November 2006 we have nevertheless a "belated" release here.
    As the Community was still playing OFP and ArmA hasn't be released, JörgF. started creating a german WW2 Object-Pack. But because there were still no addon tools for ArmA available after its release, he was going on working at his OFP project.
    The final result is a huge object-pack which contains AA-guns, AT-guns, bunkers, several scout-tanks and walls. We hope to make those people happy who are still playing OFP of the most different reasons.
